Lyme Disease Awareness
Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne illness in both
North America and Europe. The most common carrier of this disease is the Deer
tick, which feed on the blood of animals and humans. Deer ticks harbor and
spread the bacteria when feeding. Those living in or those who frequent heavily
wooded and grassy areas where the ticks thrive are more likely to get Lyme
disease. Most people who contract Lyme disease recover completely, as long as
you are treated with appropriate antibiotics at the early stages of the
disease. Some of the symptoms include a rash, flu-like symptoms, migratory
joint pain, and neurological problems among other things. Some less common
symptoms are an irregular heartbeat, eye inflammation, hepatitis and severe
